Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of servicing jobs and service agreements
  • Implement quality assurance programs/procedures in the service and dispatch departments to ensure customer satisfaction and to strengthen customer relationships
  • Foster a culture that ensures excellent customer service by confronting issues openly and quickly and resolving customer complaints/dissatisfaction
  • Manage technicians and dispatchers by assessing training needs by selecting training programs for team members
  • Participate in all programs relating to performance evaluations and career development planning
  • Complete regular ride alongs and in person assessments with service technicians
  • Weekly reviews and spot checks dispatch calls for quality control
  • Responsible that the service technicians and dispatchers achieve their goals/metrics
  • Responsible for service department revenue and margin
  • Track the performance and metrics of service techs and dispatchers to assure the goals will be achieved and adjust or train where necessary
  • Oversee recruiting and getting new technicians on board while creating opportunity for existing growth
  • Build a bench of superstars ready to join the team, while developing existing team
  • Manage to and achieve revenue and profitability goals set for the service department
  • Address elevated budgetary issues when they arise

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong and in-depth knowledge and understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Outstanding customer service and sales skills
  • Ability to motivate, manage and training a team of HVAC technicians and dispatchers
  • Ability to motivate, manage, and train a team of HVAC/R technicians and dispatchers
  • Ability to create strategy and goals for team productivity and quality of work
  • Ability to read, interpret, utilize and train on manuals, schematics and control circuits related to HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Ability to perform heating and cooling calculations
  • Ability to perform combustion analysis on gas fired equipment
  • Knowledge of local codes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with computers, phones, and other office equipment
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while under pressure
  • Strong troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills


  • 5+ Years Service Technician Experience
  • 3+ Years Management Experience
  • EPA and NATE certified
