Job Title: National Director of Strategic Accounts

Location: Wichita Kansas
Salary: $50,000+ (Base Salary with Sales Incentives)

Company Overview: We are a leading Kansas-based manufacturer of outdoor equipment, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service. We are seeking an established sales leader to join our team and drive the growth of our national accounts.

Position Overview: The National Director of Strategic Accounts will be responsible for brokering relationships, promoting sales, and creating comprehensive sales plans to meet and exceed annual targets. This role includes developing and managing sales forecasts, preparing compelling sales presentations, and collaborating with the Supply Chain team to ensure adequate inventory replenishment. Attendance at trade shows, sales meetings, and account events will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with national accounts, driving sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Create and implement strategic sales plans to achieve annual sales targets.
  • Assist in developing and managing sales forecasts (both dollar and unit) to ensure accurate planning.
  • Prepare and deliver impactful sales presentations tailored to specific audiences.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to maintain sufficient inventory levels.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, sales meetings, and account events as needed.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform sales strategies.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management on sales activities, results, and market insights.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Continuously improve professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of industry sales experience, particularly with retail accounts (big box, hardware/home center, distributors & co-ops, Outdoor Power Equipment OEMs).
  • Proven track record of selling to national accounts, with current or recent experience preferred.
  • Must be located withing 4 hours of Wichita Kansas or willing to relocate. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong phone and email communication skills.
  • Experience in the Outdoor Power Equipment Industry is highly preferred.

Sales Representative Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve customers by selling products and meeting their needs.
  • Manage existing accounts, secure orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules.
  • Tailor sales presentations to the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
  • Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information.
  • Recommend product, service, and policy changes based on results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education and networking.
  • Provide historical records by maintaining sales records.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
